This course will provide you with an introduction to culture and cultural studies. It will introduce concepts for the study of culture. Beginning with an overview of main concepts such as culture and cultural studies, it will then proceed to central categories such as signs, media, the body, time, memory and identity among others. Gender too will be covered together with other topics.
There will be a variety of practices included for the practical part of each concept and we will make use of both American and GB culture as a reference. Students can discuss about the culture of their homeland too. This will be useful for knowing different cultures as a result of living in a multicultural society and studying in a field of study based on culture.
