Bachelorsemester empfohlen.
Leaving care is not only a big topic in Germany. Careleavers (young people who grew up in foster or residential care) struggle with different obstacles and barriers all around the world. This course gives you the opportunity not only to learn theoretically about leaving care but also apply this knowledge in group work practices and an international summer camp! In this course we will work on international perspectives on leaving care and get insights in different projects for example „Peerport“ an Indo-German Careleavers exchange and the international Summer Camps run by the Robinson Crusoe Foundation in Poland. We will also introduce you to different methods of team building and cultural experiences.
This course will take part in the „Exkursionswoche“ and allow you to work intensily on this topic for three days, although there will be a first session at the beginning of the semester as an introduction and to organize the course. On top of that five of you can get the opportunity to be part of the international summer camp in Poland in August (Date to confirmed). For this there will be another compulsory workshop for one day shortly before the camp. Most of the costs will be covered by the university, but there might occur a small fee for taking part in the camp.
The first session will be compulsory for everyone who wants to attend the course!
