Ukrainian higher education institutions face an urgent need to move beyond traditional teaching models towards approaches thatdirectly respond to societal challenges intensified by war, displacement, and post-crisis recovery. Despite growing expectations,existing curricula often lack structured mechanisms for meaningful community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, andmeasurable social impact. This project addresses these gaps by institutionalising Social Impact Learning (SIL) as a scalable, qualityassurededucational model within higher education.The project aims to embed SIL into university systems through micro-credentials, collaboratories, and structured cooperation withcommunities, public authorities, civil society organisations, and employers. SIL integrates real-life societal challenges into learningprocesses, enabling students to co-create solutions while developing professional, transversal, and civic competences aligned withEuropean priorities on employability, active citizenship, inclusion, and innovation.A key innovation lies in combining practice-based learning, simulations of social change, foresight methods, and interdisciplinaryteamwork within flexible micro-credential formats that can be rapidly adapted to evolving needs. Collaboratories function aspermanent co-creation spaces, strengthening university–society interaction and ensuring the relevance and sustainability of learningoutcomes.The project delivers systemic impact through curriculum integration, capacity building for academic staff, stakeholder-engagedTheaim of the project is to enhance the quality of training of specialists in Social Work by introducing the Social Impact Learningapproach in higher education in order to develop the competencies required for working with internally displaced persons, veterans,and individuals returning to Ukraine after forced migration, with a focus on social inclusion, resilience, resocialisation, and socioeconomicreintegration.
