This course is dedicated to literary didactics. We will ask ourselves which methods already exist in teaching in Grund-, Haupt- or Realschule today. We will discuss these methods, such as story-telling or nursery-rhyme telling or singing. With the help of games that use little or no text at all, we will examine our pre-knowledge of literary genres and explore interaction and differenciated instruction.
The students who become primary school teachers will have to read J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the others, Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. Afterwards, we will discuss gender constructions and intercultural competences and examine graded-reader versions of the two texts that are already available. We will analyse the pre-, while- and post-reading activities offered in these graded readers and later develop our own activities for the respective language level of our groups of learners and design teaching units. In addition we will discuss how students can write an easy text version themselves, so that they can later do this for their own teaching. |
