All materials relevant to this course will be provided in class and via Learnweb.

In order to take part in the final exam you must register for the "Sprachkompetenz Englisch Klausur" 'course' via LSF prior to the deadline. This functions independently from participation in this course.

Course Goals and Content: The aim of this course is to foster your reading comprehension, enrich your vocabulary and strengthen your argumentative writing skills, including essay organization and construction (Introduction/Thesis Statements, Body, Conclusion), summary and paraphrase, some grammatical issues (punctuation, capitalization of nouns, verb choice, tense, voice and use, etc.), editing and proofreading among other elements. 

NOTE: This semester, Schriftliche Kompetenz Englisch will come in two parts (both required to get to the 4 SWS credits of preparation for the end-of-semester exam that all IKÜ students with English as one of their languages will need to pass before graduation), the 2 SWS 4531 SKE (essentially the "theoretical" part of the course with some Übungen) AND the 2 SWS 4532 Schriftliche Kompetenz Ergänzung (vocabulary work and additional Übungen based on the 4531 materials). So, MAKE SURE TO SIGN UP FOR BOTH COURSES - the 4531 and the 4532

Open to all students as of their first semester in BA IKÜ. This is a preparatory course for the Sprachkompetenz Exam (BA IKÜ: Modul 2E-2, schriftliche Kompetenz (6 LP)). Recommended for exchange students.
