Prüfungsleistung will be a real-time exam as well as a detailed lesson plan (approx. 4-5 pages ) to be submitted after the end of the course.
Please note carefully that this class is ONLY for students studying to become English teachers in the primary school (Grundschule).
This class introduces you to the most important approaches, techniques and strategies in current foreign language teaching (EFL) in the primary classroom. It includes both theoretical aspects as well as practical examples from the EFL primary classroom. A specific focus will be on the methodology of task-based language teaching. To promote students' reflective competence as future EFL teachers, micro-teaching sessions will be planned as well as the analysis of videography taken from EFL primary classrooms. The contents from the seminar on Instructed Second Language Acquisition (TEFL Theory) acts as a good basis for this course.
Studienleistung: regular attendance, regular reading,small assignments, group micro-teaching.
Prüfungsleistung: 90 min. exam on theory of teaching young learners, short lesson plan and unit (4 pages - practical example) for submission after completion of course.
