Aim of the course:

• Introduction of ecosystem services (types, conditions, approaches)
• Analysis and assessment of ecosystem services using a matric approach and GIStools
• Ecosystem services in agroforestry systems
• Application of current knowledge about ecosystem services into future scenarios ina specific multifunctional landscape

Requirement of the course:

• Basic knowledge of GIS

• Blocked seminars: ecosystem services, mapping ecosystem services, ArcGISapplication

Schedule:

• Introduction about ecosystem services and ecosystem services mapping, dividingthe students into groups, and exploring the research objectives in the landscape ofthe area.
• The focus of the group: in the area of agroforestry systems (provisioning,regulating, and cultural services)
• Working and processing the data on the field in ArcGIS to map combine andsuggest solutions related to ecosystem services for future land use
• Before the final presentation: update on the work/problem encountered (supportingstudents to solve relevant concerns and problems).

Final Evaluation/Assessment:

• Group poster presentation
