International guest students are very welcome in this seminar.
This is a bilingual seminar, English & German. Very good language skills in both languages will be necessary.
Please note: there are two additional seminars called "Negotiating Across Cultures" in this winter semester. They have different formats (online, virtual) and contents. Please make yourself familiar with the contents of each class and check how they fit into your timetable. Then choose which seminars you would like to register for. Hint: find a "plan B" in case your first choice is not working out (because the number of participants in some seminars is limited).
Completed "Modul G (Grundlagen)" and "Modul S1" (three introductury lectures); very good English and German skills.
This course deals with the theory and practice of intercultural negotiation from a linguistic point of view. In this course, we will make use of academic texts (German and English) and practical exercises (negotiation simulations), so that students develop a theoretical and practical understanding of types of negotiation situations in which different cultures and languages play a role. A special focus is on the use of English in negotiation situations, especially those situations in which English is the lingua franca.

Modul BA IIM S3-1: Negotiating across culture (aktuelle PO)
