Lerninhalte |
The seminar will offer an in-depth understanding of the tools provided by contemporary social epistemology and epistemologies of the South to reflect on the phenomenon of epistemic violence and epistemic injustice, along with their implications for social phenomena and the philosophical task itself. We will focus on the detailed study of recent debates around epistemic violence and epistemic injustice and their intersection with coloniality, including both theoretical-conceptual approaches and applied research. For each of these two axes, the theoretical-conceptual aspects will be addressed first, before moving on to consider their repercussions in institutional functioning, through analyses applied to different spheres according to the students' research interests. In all cases, through the reading of canonical texts and subsequent literature, with an emphasis on non-European bibliography, the aim will be to understand the specificity of the phenomenon, its characteristics, its different modes of presentation, and the central debates in contemporary philosophy on the subject, as well as some forms of resistance or solution proposed from critical epistemologies. Classes, readings and assignments will be entirely delivered in English. |
