Lerninhalte |
The course will explore in depth the theoretical and methodical foundations of current emipircal research on teaching. A special focus will be placed on the developing of written and spoken communication skills in English for academic purposes (conference presentation, reporting of research results etc.). The participants will analyze handbooks and textbooks, discuss selected research papers, and practice speaking in academic contexts (e.g., presenting one’s CV, giving an overview on a paper, discussing the pros and cons of an argument). The course will be held in both English and German; therefore a good mastery of the English language (levels B2 or C1 of the European Language Portfolio) is expected. The course will be held fourthnightly for two hours. An additional workshops will provide the opportunity to meet foreign researches who will report on their work and discuss it with the audience. The course is run in cooperation with the CeBU (Centrum für Bildungs- und Unterrichtsforschung) and the Post-graduate School on Teaching and Instruction (Promotionskolleg Unterrichtsforschung). Early stage researches at the University of Hildesheim are welcome. |
