Today the debates in feminism has gone beyond the traditional, binary categories of the "masculinity/femininity" to encompass complex identity issues involving gender, race, class, sexual orientation, origin, and other forms of disadvantage and privilege. These complexities, first brought to our attention by black feminists, are analyzed today under the rubric of "intersectionality." In this Seminar we shall examine how intersectionality offers challenges to feminism and how the debates relate to various claims of justice. |
