Working with the notion of the unknown we will follow personal to collective planetary questions. From the classically feminist question of the „personal is political“, we will start to open up the scale to the „personal is geological“ (1) and even further to space (2). I would suggest painting as a starting point for discussion to work with questions about art, subjectivity, authorship and human scale. We will work together with plants, objects, sounds, photography or painting to find out traces linking local to global narratives and experiment between facts & fiction. This practice-based class will lead to a presentation in form of an exhibition, an action or interventions in public space.

Lizza May David’s multidisciplinary practices involves autobiographical narratives relating to identity, memory, knowledge and its loss in a personal and collective sense. Responding and resonating to these through mark making on canvas allows her furthermore to question how ideologies run through our bodies, influencing human/nonhuman relations, materialities, and indexical affinities. David studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg and University of Arts Berlin, Germany.
